What are the kidneys?
Kidneys are a pair of organs shaped like beans, kidney locatedat the bottom of the rib cage on the right and left rear. Although your body is equipped with two kidneys, you can use with one reasonably healthy kidney if one kidney is damaged or deleted. Kidney receives blood from the aorta, and send it back to the heart with the right balance of chemicals and fluids to be distributed throughout the body. The urine made by the kidneys is moved out of the body through the urinary tract.
What Kidney Function?
Kidney function for controlling the quantity and quality of fluids in the body. Kidneys also produce hormones and vitamins, while the hormone renin useful to help control blood pressure when the kidneys are not working properly, waste products and fluids can harm the body and can create life-threatening situation. Among the important substances in the kidneys that can help to control the quantity and quality of fluids in the body are sodium, potassium, chloride, bicarbonate (HCO3-), pH, calcium, phosphorus, and magnesium.
